Have you ever heard that over time, a dog and his master will take on similar traits, be it in their personalities or their physical appearance? Over the years, we've realized that Gull Lake Inn has become an extension of us and our values. What we enjoy and seek are what the inn has become. Mary's flowerbeds are an explosion of color and beauty, reflecting her love of nature - gardening being one of her favorite past times. Bill is seen in almost every other area. The grill station, lodge, poker/pool table lofts, horseshoe/fire pits, and antiques are all his vision of what is fun and entertaining. The only thing missing is a deer blind and fishing hole. As we continue this innkeeper adventure, we most appreciate our guests and the stories shared. Many of you have become good friends.

Celebrating 26 years as innkeepers has caught us by surprise! Never did we expect to be here at this time in our lives. Crazy busy, never boring, so many stories. Are we successful? Yes, but not by society's standards. Our riches are in our family, faith, flexibility, fun and fortitude, definitely fortitude! Eventually you get it, as Pierre de Coubertin said, 'The important thing in Life is not triumph, but the struggle.' So in reflecting on these long yet fast 26 years, we know that we don't sell rooms, we sell experiences. Thousands and thousands of guests have come, experienced and shared their memories of the inn and the Gull Lake area, and now we count them as friends.

Gull Lake is one of Barry and Kalamazoo county’s most popular lakes. Gull Lake is an All Sports Lake that is known for its beautiful clear, blue green waters that have made it a local scuba diving hot spot! In fact many artifacts have been placed in the lake for divers to swim through and look it (a motorcycle, phone booth, railroad tracks and more). The lake is also very large and supports a yacht club and hosts many sailboat racing weekends. With activities such as boating, water skiing, tubing, sailing, swimming, kayaking, jet skiing, and great fishing-Gull Lake is a great place to call home!
